Breath Mantra Meditations Instruction

Each meditation is structured the same way and is fully guided by the breath. First we start by settling into the space bringing the awareness to the breath. Then we prepare and clear the space with 3 Om’s and move into the mantra meditation. Each Om is a full, gentle in breath, followed by the sound of Om on a long gentle outbreath. This is in preparation for the meditation to follow. The Om’s can be vocalized or thought depending on personal preference.
Each meditation is 108 breaths long. Each breath is 12 seconds in length, including a slight pause at the top of the inhale, and at the end of the exhale. 4 seconds for the in-phase of the breath, 8 seconds for the out-phase of the breath. Inhale a fully belly, ribcage, chest breath through the nose. Exhale gently through the mouth or the nose, whichever feels more comfortable to you. Keep whichever you choose for the whole duration of the meditation.
The meditation is followed with 108 seconds of silence. During this silence, bring your breath back to a natural gentle rhythm, allowing your mind to be still, calm and focused on the breath. The meditation is brought to a close with a gentle bell.
